My Labour Story

0
It was 6.46AM when I woke up for my routine peeing session (LOL) and saw blood. Told CX about it and he was pretty unconvinced. And so I called the labour ward and the nurse told me to wait. Initially we thought it was just spotting and we were still unsure if I'm going into labour. Called my clinic at 9AM and was instructed to head down to the labour ward. Daddy came to fetch me and he told me it's most likely a false alarm as my Mum had the same experience with me. Headed to the observation alone and discovered that my doctor was on MC. Surprisingly, I was already having contractions and was 3cm dilated. And so in a whirlwind of events, I was pulled to the labour room. Had lunch and waited for CX to arrive. Luckily, my workaholic and professional doctor was back and he offered the choice to burst my water bag so as to speed things up. At 3PM, my water bag was burst so as my tears. LOL! Everything felt so overwhelming. It was not exactly the pain but just the whole motherhood thing. Had my epidural right after that but still felt immersed contractions. Dr Tham felt fishy and called them to check on it. Apparently, there was leakage and I had my 2nd epidural injection. Sadly, I still felt slight pain on my right side throughout the wait. By 9PM, I was scheduled to start pushing. Push, push and push. It was a terrible experience. I remembered my last few pushes were not pushes but me screaming for help. Finally, at 10.47PM my mini me was born. (=

Dr Tham asked "Is it all worth it?". I replied, "No. Hee."

Still smiling and waiting. Not aware of what's gonna happen in a few hours.

Awaiting For Your Arrival

0

Our last leg of the race. Any moment soon my dear princess. Can't wait to have you in my arms. (=

Cleared out our master bedroom for baby's wardrobe and cabinet a week ago. We placed her crib beside us and I'm planning to have her in our room for the first 6 months.

Physically, I'm feeling very drained out every single day. Squatting or getting up from the floor is extremely exhausting. Though being lucky going through the first trimester without much sickness, the third trimester is probably the worst of the lot for me. There's so much I can't do comfortably and the waddling is hilarious. My fingers are numb most of the time as the water retention worsens. My Braxton hicks are also getting stronger. Sometimes it feels like my tummy is gonna explode!

Emotionally, I'm kinda freaked out with all the horror labour stories. Praying and hoping for a smooth delivery (I mean who doesn't? LOL.).
